Prospective Students

Prospective students

We believe in true interdisciplinary research which is the mandate of Cognitive Science. However, interdisciplinary research calls for rising beyond one’s training and theoretical convictions and learning new things from other disciplines. The lab looks for enthusiastic students who wish to do graduate work or an internship in cognitive science.

PhD and MSc

We invite Science, Engineering, Psychology as well as Linguistics graduates to consider applying for our PhD and Masters program. Others with relevant backgrounds may also apply. However, please make sure that your research interest matches with that of the lab. The admission to the PhD program at Centre for Neural and Cognitive Sciences is mainly through an entrance test followed by an interview. The Master’s program only requires an entrance exam. Please look at admission norms of the Centre for further details.

Notice
The admissions for 2017 are now closed.

Students can apply for 2018 admissions. Students with relevant research and academic background in fields such as Sciences, Engineering, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology can contact the PI for any questions.
People with relevant research experience and publications at master’s level are encouraged to apply.

Internship

We also take many interns for short-term training in the lab. These interns can be masters students who wish to gain exposure and learn about cognitive science. Such students would be ideally expected to move on to graduate studies. The training involves both conceptual and hands-on training with live projects. Unfortunately, the lab does not provide any financial assistance to the interns. However, they are given office and lab facility to do their work. Interns are advised to contact well in advance for such opportunities as space may be limited. Many a time, the research work done by interns has resulted in journal articles. Interns, thus, are trained to design their own experiments, analyse and write the results.

If you wish to visit the lab to see what we do, please contact us.
